40 Days and 40 Nights
In 2020, I developed a technique that proved instrumental to my practice. I called it the Turin Process. Since then, I have been experimenting and refining it, realising its’ potential and exploring new avenues. The resulting work can be seen here in the ’40 Days and 40 Nights’ exhibition which was created throughout 2022. No theme was used, I merely focused on the potentiality of the process.
I now find myself at an interesting crossroads. Where do I go from here? I have a wonderful and interesting printing technique, but no specific direction to take it. The answer came to me during the Autumn of 2022. Since 2020, the thrust of my work has been facilitating a visual dialogue between myself and the environment – past, present and future. I have always looked outwards for that content. I realised that it was time to do the polar opposite and to look inwards. I want to realise my memories, thoughts and ideas. Stories, hopes and fears. I want to go on a journey within. A time to excavate the essence of self.
Here is the work from 2022 that has led me to this point. It is eclectic and experimental – but it has given me the skills and tools to explore further – which is where I go from here.
I hope you enjoyed viewing my work and that you will visit again to see new work and exhibitions as they are added.
